Evolution Anyone???

i read alot of posts and it seems that though you all (or most) have left the kh, you still believe in a "father" or a "jesus" that created everything.

since i too and one that left the kh, i have delved into science and have come the conculsion that god does not exist in a spirit form, but is life itself.

the "creator" of all things is evolution.

Since I too and one that left the KH, I have delved into Science and have come the conculsion that god does not exist in a spirit form, but is life itself. The "creator" of all things is Evolution. Darwin was right. I have accpeted that the bible, koran and other "holy scripts" are only written by men who are trying figure out what he/she cannot grasp. So the easiest answer is that a god or gods created everything and do everything for us. I do believe that religion (every religion) is man's question to try figure out what we are incapable of. Science has become my religion now. Not Sciencetology, but Science.

i do believe that what they call a religion is in fact, child abuse and mere brainwashing.

i have since left, but rements of this cult still haunt me today.

Well, I do have someone, but the whole distance from holidays and such has created some friction. I just want people to know that if they are JWs right now and they are reading this, that the religion they belong to is nothing more than a money making scheme. I am very happy to find this site.!!!! I think I may make many posts! :)

Hello, wow, I can't believe this site, I love it! First off, let me start by saying "Hello". I am from NJ USA. I was raised a JW until I left when I was 16. I am 23 now. I am very happy to meet all of you. Until today, I didn't know wbout most people's feelings toward JWs. I thought that I was the only one who had a terrible childhood because of these people. But I see I couldn't have been more wrong!

It is horribly sad to see one so incredibly devoted to an empty religion. All of their promises have yet to be unfulfilled. Every year that was fortold as the end of this world, were wrong. Everything that was taught at our Sunday meetings, were wrong. All their preachings and doctrines that I was force-fed as a young child were wrong. I only hope that you see one day. The bible is a book of stories. That is all. The bible, the Koran, and others are all same. the watchtower, though, is not worth the paper it is printed on.

What is amazing is that you have not seen from behind the veil that the JWs have put over your head. I saw past it. I am so very happy I found this website! Think for yourself, when you do, you will realize that you have been lied to the entire time. And please don't pray to your god for me. A god like yours who is full of vengence, I want nothing to do with.

My Life In the Watchtower

so to re-introduce myself i chose number 6, after the main character in that superb 60's sci fi series "the prisoner".

I, too, was raised a Jehovah's Witness from birth on. I left in my 16th year. My father, married to my mother for 25 years, a baptized JW was found to be having an affair with another baptized member of the Church. My mother was crushed and went to the elders for some support. Since she was not baptized, yet an active member for 25 years, they turned her away. She left and since the split, I also turned away. in fact, now I can be an apostate. I find it to be amazing that these people who claim to love all, would not even consider my mother important enough to sympathize (even after all the thousands of dollars donated to them). Myself, I do have much hatred for this religion and any members. They have succeded in ruining my childhood, as I spent countless hour in the field service preaching this so-called "truth". Never getting that magic from holidays. Being told "If you spell Santa differently you get Satan". I believed all the garbage they force fed me. Even today, I dread Christmas and my birthday because of the feelings that I had when I was a young child. The jealosy of my friends getting everything they wanted for Christmas and their birthdays, has followed me. I only hope that I can get over this for any children I may have.
To this day, I don't know many in my family because of the years that I was kept from them because they were of the "world". My deceased grandmother who died when I was 10, though I do have fond memories of her, the memories are far and few in between. Why? Because I was told she did not practice "The Truth" because she smoked.

I was raised as a JW. I do believe that what they call a religion is in fact, child abuse and mere brainwashing. I have since left, but rements of this cult still haunt me today. I can't celebrate holidays, birthdays because I find no joy in these things at all. in fact, I think of Christmas and birthdays, I have terrible memories. To utter the phrase "Merry Christmas" is so foreign to me that years later, I find it hard to say. Is there anyone else who may have the same ghosts haunting them?
